- 02Concept of Yarn Manufacture: cotton system, woollen system, worsted 2 system, jute system, flax (wet) system: Blow room, Carding (Flat type and roller-clearer), Drawing machine, roving machine
- 03Ring spinning, Rotor spinning; Modern developments in spinning; Principle 3 of ring doubler and two-for-one twister; Fiber packing density of yarn; Yarn twist and its relation to yarn properties. Stress-strain relation, Mass irregularity
- 04Preparatory weaving: Winding, Warping, Sizing, beaming, drawing and 2 denting; Weaving: Concept of weaving, Handloom, Primary and secondary motions of loom
- 05Shedding, picking, Beatup, Loom timing, Take-up and Let-off motions
- 06Basic woven fabric structure and design; Knitting: Concept of knitting
- 07Basic Yarn testing: Count, Twist, tensile strength, CSP, Hairiness, Fabric 4 testing: GSM, EPI, PPI, Tensile strength, tearing strength, Bursting strength
- 08Chemical composition of plant and animal fibers - Natural and added 2 impurities; Pre-treatment of natural fiber for surface cleaning/ removing impurities � Desizing
- 09Scouring; Degumming; Bleaching- reductive, oxidative; combined scouring 3 and bleaching; Woollenization; Mercerization; fluorescent brightening agents; de-pigmentation; cottonisation; Carbonization, Felting of wool
